Splatter Technique

I promised you last week a tutorial on how to make splatters on your projects one of my favorite techniques. Last week my card featured the splatter technique which is a messy but fun way to add something extra to your card. So lets get started on the technique. Here it is on the card.

This technique is quite random in nature and is hard to control on the project so if you are a perfectionist this might not be the technique for you. You will want to protect your surfaces or find a box that you can splatter in so you don't wreck anything. Below is my splatter box and you can tell its quite loved and well used. I think of it as an art piece with all its color.

Instruction:
  1. Gather your supplies like your splatter box, cardstock, ink pad, aqua painter, and stamping block.
  2. Our ink pads are water soluble so they are perfect for this technique. What I do is take a stamping block and ink it up so you have some color to work with.
  3. Make sure you have a good bit of color on the block so you can work with it.
  4. Take your aqua painter and fill it with water and add some water on to the block from the aqua painter. Mix together  the ink and water to make a watery ink color. Make sure its on the brush.
5. I don't suggest splattering right on the card base but splatter on a card front. This is due to it getting on places you don't want or staining the card.
6. I splatter by taping the aqua painter on the side of my hand and the excess ink will splatter.

Here is the card base I did. It will dry fairly quickly and then you can work with it to complete the card. My favorite color to use is black but any color works. You can even use water soluble paint as well.

Here is another example of splatter.
